The Rusty Spur Bunk and Barn, a unique B & B, is open and waiting to accommodate you and your horses for a fun filled summer vacation riding the trails of the Pikes Peak region. Don’t forget to bring your dog; the Rusty Spur welcomes them too.
What once was the Station Masters house for the Midland Railroad during
the late 1800 and nestled at the base of majestic Pikes Peak lays the
Rusty Spur Ranch. Boasting fabulous views the Rusty Spur also has
accommodations for humans, horses and dogs.
We want to have families come here and bring their horses to ride the many trails close by and relax at the end of the day in a comfy setting with a full dining room, TV room and a cozy bedroom while their horses stretch their legs in a corral or pasture. Comfort for everyone.
Experience the charm of the old west in one of our four unique and individual bedrooms. Choose from either a king or queen bed that sleeps two, or enjoy a queen with a double fold out that sleeps four, perfect for families. Share two spacious full bathrooms.
The dining room seats 8 at a rustic hand hewn rosewood table. The
hutch and buffet hold all the dishes and silverware need for the full
breakfast in the morning included with your stay. There are snacks
and drinks in the refrigerator for those midnight hungers.
A private TV room has a large leather sectional and chair for your comfort as you watch TV or a movie. The hand made mirror created from the tops if cowboy boots is just one of the many rustic and charming pieces of art you will see throughout the house.
If sitting outside is your pleasure then you‘ll love the 1000 sq.ft. patio. Tables and umbrellas give you a perfect place to eat or just sit in the warm sun. The BBQ allows you and your family to grill out and enjoy a quiet evening on the ranch. The large hot tub is always inviting. The night skies can’t be beat, since we have no city lights to obscure the view. A fire in the rock lined fire pit is always relaxing and captivating to end your day and unwind with a glass of wine. Enjoy a more intimate setting on the front porch.
For the horses we have 4 spacious corrals with loafing sheds at the end of each corral or a pasture for romping and grazing on the sweet mountain grasses. Your dogs are not only welcome but may stay with you in the house. There is a run if you feel that you want to contain them when they are out, but there is plenty of room for them to run also.
Take a walk on the trail and see the sights all around us. A panorama of all the old ranches in the area as well as the best view of Pikes Peak is moments away on the walking trail.
We offer you the time of your life with your whole family at the Rusty Spur Bunk and Barn. One half hour from Colorado Springs will get you to our door step. Woodland Park is minutes away and offers lots to do as well. There is a golf course, dinosaur museum, restaurants and more. If hunting and fishing is your thing, this area can’t be beat.
The owner, Michele Abbott, is an interior designer. Deciding to build her dream, she has created a very unique bed and breakfast. Done in cowboy western décor, it is cozy and comfortable and filled with captivating original art work. You will love this vacation spot.
